Happy Monday to Everyone!

What a great Catholic Schools Week we had last week! I want to thank everyone involved in making it a very special week that focused on our unique, wonderful school and Catholic education.
The kick-off Mass was fantastic with our students reading, ushering, greeting, and singing! Those pre-school and kindergarteners sang wonderfully under the hard work of Miss Mangan and Pam Smith! Elizabeth and Mark read the readings perfectly, and our students that greeted, ushered, and brought up the offertory did Holy Spirit Catholic School proud. A special thank you as well to Mr. de Manual for helping the ushers!

A big Thank You also goes to the parents who drove on our field trips. Going to Lansing and the Saint Louis Center were wonderful parts of CSW and your help in getting the students there was invaluable. We were able to present the money we raised from our Christmas Basket Raffle to the Saint Louis Center when we visited.

Thank you to all the families that donated clothing for the St. Vincent clothing drive and items for our troops in Afghanistan. Mrs. Gainer was able to send several boxes to her son. He will distribute those items to the men and women there who really need our prayers and support.

I want to also thank Father John, Deacon Jerry, and Mr. and Mrs. Rzeppa and for our Vocation Day talks. The students now have a better understanding of what it takes to be a priest, deacon, or a married person. These vocations are integral to our Catholic faith!

And thank you to the parents who put on the Staff Appreciation Lunch on Friday! The food was very good and much appreciated after a long week of festivities. Finally, thank you to all those who helped in any way that I just don’t know about. It takes a lot of people and work to put CSW together. God bless you all!
We are so blessed here at Holy Spirit Catholic School. God has blessed us with wonderful families and a wonderful, supportive parish. May God continue to bless us.
Saint Philomena, pray for us.

Dear Families,
A Very Happy and Blessed New Year to Everyone!
I pray that everyone had a restful Christmas break and is ready to jump into January. We’re hitting the ground running this month since we have so much to do.

The Middle School students are preparing for and taking their midterm exams the 17th through the 20th of January. I hope the students had been studying over the break! This is a great time to hone those study skills as we prepare our students to move on into high school.

We are also getting ready for Catholic Schools Week that starts with Mass and an Open House on January 29th. The theme this year is Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service.
We will be having several activities that week including the 5th through 8th grades visiting the

Dear Parents,
I am the 5th through 8th Grade teacher of Math, Science, and Social Studies at Holy Spirit Catholic School. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University and am currently working toward a Masters in Science Education at Michigan State University. I also hold Middle School Science Certification for the State of Michigan. I have over 30 years of experience working with children of all ages. In addition, I am also a member of the National Science Teachers Association, The Michigan Science Teachers Association, and The Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.
My work as a teacher is not just a job, but also a vocation. It is a challenge and a reward to help young students learn about the world around them that our God has created for us. My work is a blessing and a gift!
